Volunteer Program Overview
NewYork-Presbyterian (NYP) volunteers are warm, caring people who give back to their community. They offer time, talent, and dedication in patient care and clerical settings to support patients and families.
Volunteers are a vital part of NYP. Each year, more than 3,300 volunteers serve across our locations. Volunteers come from many backgrounds and share an interest in helping others. Their attention is invaluable to patients and families. This information is for people interested in volunteering at NYP.
Minimum Commitment Requirements
Volunteers are asked to give a minimum of one consecutive four-hour period each week, for a minimum total of 150 hours.
Types of Volunteer Roles
There are a variety of volunteer roles to fit different schedules, abilities, and interests. Volunteers may work directly with patients or choose an assignment behind the scenes in clerical positions throughout the hospital.
