How do new team members or temporary staff pick-up ID badges during COVID-19?

In light of the current outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in New York City and Westchester County, and to prioritize the health and safety of our patients and staff, we have instituted an online orientation process to minimize large in-person gatherings at this time.  The means that ID badge distribution will no longer happen at in-person Welcome to NYP orientation, until in-person orientation is reinstated.

Key Features 

• Security has implemented an amended ID distribution process during COVID-19. Please follow the procedures for designated locations as identified below. 

• A single department hiring manager or single designee pick-up ID badges for their whole group, to limit visits to the Security ID centers.

  • The person picking up IDs must be a hospital team member with a valid ID

  • They must date, sign and print their name on the list when picking up IDs

  • The person will be given the ID badges, lanyards and clips

• Allen Hospital – Badges for the Allen Hospital & Ryan Larkin Field Hospital (at the Allen) will be delivered to the Allen from Columbia and should be picked up upon arrival.  Hiring Managers should coordinate with Security for pick-up or delivery of their department’s ID Badges.

• Columbia/MSCHONY - ID badges can be picked up at Security ID Centers. For new orientation and groups of 5 or more staff, hiring manager or an appropriate representative from the department should call the ID center ahead of time to arrange for group pick-up.
